Kansas Speedway announced today that legendary NASCAR Hall of Famer, seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, and LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Team Ambassador Richard Petty will serve as the Grand Marshal for Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. In celebration of the Petty Family’s 75th year in NASCAR, “The King” will say the most famous words in motorsports ahead of one of the most competitive events of the year.
“Few people carry as much of an esteemed and winning history in sports than Richard Petty,” said Kansas Speedway Track President Pat Warren. “It’s a genuine honor to have one of the most distinguished figures in all of NASCAR give the command to start engines prior to the AdventHealth 400.”

Additionally, he has been elected to the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame, International Motorsports Hall of Fame, North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame, the North Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame and serves as Chairman of the North Carolina Motorsports Association.
