What’s Happening?

In what is one of many major stories this month, Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic has released a leaked copy the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Schedule. The schedule is seeing massive changes, including two new tracks and many race weekend changes.

  • The 2025 schedule was rumored to be one of the most changed schedules in NASCAR history. Rumors surrounded Bowman Gray Stadium and an international race in Mexico City or Montreal.
  • The schedule did, in fact, gain Bowman Gray, as NASCAR themselves revealed during the Michigan race weekend. This week, NASCAR announced that the Cup Series will race in Mexico City next season. However, the once-thought Montreal race will not be on the 2025 schedule.
  • Many rumors were true, like removing one race from the Richmond calendar, Iowa’s new race weekend, Dover’s summer race, and a revamped playoff schedule. Notable playoff changes include the addition of New Hampshire and Gateway, alongside the subtraction of Watkins Glen, Atlanta, and Homestead.
