What’s Happening?
On Thursday, Reamue Brothers Racing announced that they will field a third truck in 2025 using the No. 2. However, this announcement raises questions about the future of the Craftsman Truck Series team that entered the No. 2 last season, Rev Racing.
The No. 2 in 2025
RBR has not announced the driver’s name; however, the team fielding three full-time trucks in 2025 shows signs of growth. Last season, RBR entered three trucks, two full-time and one part-time.
Right now, RBR has one confirmed driver for the Truck Series. That driver is actor-turned-racer Frankie Muniz in the No. 33. With the addition of the No. 2, RBR confirmed that the No. 22 will return for 2025.
Hands down, the question raised by this announcement, aside from who the driver will be, is what will happen with Rev Racing.
What’s Going on With Rev?
In 2023 and 2024, Rev Racing entered the No. 2 Truck with Nick Sanchez. Historically an ARCA team, this move showed that Rev was ready for the next level in racing. In 2023, their expansion would be with help from Kyle Busch Motorsports before joining Spire Motorsports in 2024 as a pseudo-fourth Spire truck.
With Spire’s support, the team won three races last season with Sanchez, who is getting promoted to the Xfinity Series this season with Big Machine Racing. This move seemingly left the No. 2 open. Most expected to see reigning ARCA Menards Series Champion Andrés Pérez, who raced with Rev in ARCA, in the No. 2 in 2025.
However, recent rumors have tied him to the No. 77 Truck at Spire Motorsports this season, and Former No. 2 Crew Chief Kevin Manion could also join Spire this season. Neither Rev nor Spire has confirmed any of these moves, leaving the team’s future a mystery. Spire has confirmed it will field four trucks in 2025.
