What’s Happening?

With rumors continuing to mount about Ram Trucks’ new All-Star entry in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis finally addressed these rumors in a recent interview.

Monday, Ram Trucks and Kaulig Racing announced that one of their five entries for the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season will be an “All-Star” truck.

This program, called the “Free Agent Driver Program”, will feature a rotating door of drivers from “across the motorsports world” in the No. 25 truck throughout the season. Although this has now been formally announced, rumors have long circulated that the team could take this route with one of their entries.

Among the names rumored to potentially drive this truck are NASCAR legends Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne, alongside ARCA Menards Series part-timer and YouTube star Cleetus McFarland.

Though no drivers of the No. 25 will be announced until February, fans are grasping for any information regarding these drivers’ potential relationship with Ram.

In a recent interview with Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, Ram Trucks CEO Tim Kuniskis addressed these rumors, telling Pockrass that he has heard these rumors and saying, “We’ll see. It’s going to be fun.”

McFarland, Stewart, and Kahne

Though his response was vague, Kuniskis is not the first member of the Kaulig and Ram combination to have spoken about these rumors.

During a November 13 interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Kaulig CEO Chris Rice said that they have had internal conversations about Stewart and Kahne, but “We do not have a contract with any one of those guys.”

In fact, Kuniskis has even spoken about Stewart and McFarland in the past.

During a June episode of Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour podcast, Kuniskis addressed a question from Kevin Harvick regarding Stewart as a potential team owner when Ram or its fellow Stellantis brand, Dodge, returns to NASCAR. The CEO told Harvick, “I didn’t hear anything from Tony, but we’ll see where this all ends up.”

Regarding McFarland, Kuniskis said in June, “I don’t know where that came from. “People suspected that we had something to do with that. We actually had absolutely nothing to do with it.”

The rumors about McFarland stemmed from a June 1 report from Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal, claiming that Mitchell is one of a few “potential drivers” for NASCAR’s new OEM.

Although McFarland has expressed his intent to race on a part-time basis next season, the team he will be racing with and the level at which he will compete are unknown as of press time.
