What’s Happening?

Following the passing of NASCAR legend and part-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Kyle Busch, Spire Motorsports is bringing back Rajah Caruth to drive the No. 7 this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway.

  • Before he passed from an abrupt medical issue last week, Busch was set to drive the No. 7 in multiple races throughout the 2026 season. This eight-race schedule included this weekend’s race at Nashville, which was slated to be his sixth of the season.
  • Per NASCAR’s roster portal, to fill the gap left by Busch’s passing, Spire is bringing back fan-favorite Rajah Caruth to drive the No. 7 truck. This will be Caruth’s first Truck start since his promotion to the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series this past offseason.
  • Caruth is the defending race winner at Nashville, having led 61 of the race’s 150 laps en route to his second career win. While Caruth was a winner in the Truck Series, he is off to a slow start in his rookie OAP Series season, sitting 14th in points after splitting his time between JR Motorsports and Jordan Anderson Racing.
  • Last week at Charlotte, Spire opted for Hendrick Motorsports prospect Corey Day to drive the truck in place of Busch. With Caruth driving at Nashville, the team still has two races left, North Wilkesboro in July and Richmond in August, to find substitute drivers for Busch.
