What’s Happening?

Amazon Prime Video has released a teaser trailer and release date for its upcoming documentary, Earnhardt. The four-part documentary will cover the life and career of the Earnhardt family and seven-time Cup Series Champion Dale Earnhardt.

  • Prime Video will debut this four-part docu-series during Memorial Day weekend in May. The streaming service initially announced this documentary, produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, in May 2024. However, this is the first news about the documentary since.
  • The 30-second teaser trailer does not have any twists or turns. However, it shows clips of Earnhardt both on and off-track alongside interview clips, one of which is with Earnhardt’s youngest son, Dale Earnhardt Jr.
  • Prime Video claimed in the initial press release that Earnhardt Jr.’s media company, Dirty Mo Media, was assisting with the documentary’s production. Earnhardt Jr. also works for Prime Video as an Analyst for their upcoming exclusive five-race coverage of the NASCAR Cup Series.
  • Prime, who is already covering a majority of NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying sessions this season, will take over exclusive coverage the same weekend as the release of this documentary. Its coverage will span from May 25th at Coca-Cola 600 and end on June 22 at Pocono.
