What’s Happening?

It is official. The President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, will attend the Daytona 500 this Sunday, February 16th, 2025. As reported by Nick Sortor, you can see Mr. President board Marine One as he leaves the White House en route to Mar-a-Lago. He will then attend the 500 on Sunday; Marine One is expecting to arrive at the Daytona Beach Airport at 2 PM Eastern Standard Time. Unfortunately, this means he will miss the start of the race as the start time was moved up an hour to 1:30 PM est. This was due to the threat of inclement weather in the late afternoon/evening.

  • This has been a rumor for a couple of weeks now, particularly after President Trump became the first President in U. S. history to attend the Super Bowl.
  • While Presidents don’t really have a history of attending the Super Bowl, they do have a history of attending the Daytona 500. The first to do it was George W. Busch, who attended the 2004 running of the race. Trump became the second when he attended the race in 2020. Now, he will be in attendance for the second time.
