Being a race in the middle of summer, Michigan has had to deal with both heat and rain in its’ races before. Since 2000, Michigan has had five races shortened by rain. The most recent one coming in June of 2018 as Clint Bowyer got his final career win when the rains came.

The last race postponed due to weather happened in June of 2019. Joey Logano won after leading 163 of the 203 laps run. Michigan’s late summer sunsets allowed that race to be run on Monday evening rather than Monday afternoon like most NASCAR postponements.
