What’s Happening?

Parker Retzlaff will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Daytona this Augst, driving the No. 62 car for Beard Motorsports in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona. The move comes after Justin Thomas posted a picture on X of a Cup Series car at Richard Childress Racing’s Cup Series shop with Retzlaff’s nameplate.

  • Parker Retzlaff is 21 years old and currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Jordan Anderson Racing in the No. 31 car. He won his first career pole at Richmond this past March, and he recorded his best finish in the series, third, in the season opener at Daytona.
  • Retzlaff’s move has RCR connections all around, hence the picture of the car in RCR’s shop. Beard Motorsports has past connections to RCR with Austin Hill making five Cup Series starts for the team in 2022. Jordan Anderson Racing is also a customer of ECR Engines, owned by Richard Childress.
  • Fans are happy to see Retzlaff compete for the first time in the NASCAR Cup Series. It’s always exciting to see someone make their first career start, especially at a place like Daytona.
