What’s Happening?

Parker Retzlaff is returning to a Chevrolet team in 2025, as he is signing with Alpha Prime Racing. Retzlaff previously announced his departure from Jordan Anderson racing in mid-November, entering a short free agency period.

  • Shortly after he confirmed he would leave JAR, our sources told the Daily Downforce that Retzlaff could head to Alpha Prime Racing. Wednesday, Retzlaff and APR made the signing official.
  • Retzlaff was once a highly touted prospect for JAR. However, his 2024 Xfinity Series season showed a dip in competition from the young driver. Despite a solid one-off run with Beard Motorsports in the Cup Series and two poles, Retzlaff’s 2024 was rather quiet.
  • JAR replaced Retzlaff with Blaine Perkins, and now Retzlaff attempts to refresh his career with an underdog team. Alpha Prime Racing, despite no wins in its short history, is slowly improving from year to year.

Last season, Brennan Poole had one of the best seasons to date for the team in the No. 44. APR signed Retzlaff following the departure of Ryan Ellis to DGM racing. Though Retzlaff will replace Ellis, he will drive the No. 4 next season rather than the No. 43.

This signing is interesting as it could be another solid pairing between the underdog team and the driver. If Retzlaff can find the potential that most in the garage area think he has, this could be APR’s best signing to date.
