What’s Happening?
After a relatively clean event, we got our first major incident of the night in the O’Reilly Auto Parts season opener at Daytona International Speedway. The incident broke out when Jeb Burton tagged Ryan Sieg from behind. This sent the No. 39 Chevy around. As all heck broke loose, Brandon Jones and Sam Mayer were collected. Mayer made contact with the No. 20 and then shot up the track, plowing hard into the outside SAFER barrier. Up top, Decker plowed into the mangled No. 41. On the radio, she had a lot to say about Sam Mayer:
[Explicative] that hurt so bad. Why the [explicative] did he roll up the track? Who the [explicative] was that? That [explicative] me off so much. That [explicative] hurt! Holy [explicative].
Jeb Burton and Ryan Sieg make contact leading to a big crash involving many notable drivers.

- After CW Sports played Decker’s audio, they effectively said that that’s part of speedway racing and that she should have slowed down when the caution came out. They understood her frustrations but stated that it is the way it is.
- Decker has raced on and off in the last several seasons. Her last start in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series came at Daytona in the summer of 2025. Her plans for the remainder of the 2026 season are still up in the air.
- Also collected in the crash were Brandon Jones and Jeb Burton. Jones notoriously struggles as superspeedway style tracks.
