Eric Estepp begins this short week buildup to Pocono by talking about some NASCAR Silly Season. Martin Truex Jr. is still mulling retirement while an Australian Supercars star is joining the NASCAR Cup Series at Indianapolis.

• Eric says that the surprise entries at Indianapolis are exactly what NASCAR had in mind with the Next-Gen car.
• Eric was surprised by the tone of Martin Truex Jr.’s comments following New Hampshire, but was it enough to changed Eric’s opinion on what Truex Jr. will do next year?
• Regardless of what Eric thinks will happen, there is still something that he hopes will happen with Martin Truex Jr.

It will be interesting to see how Brodie Kostecki does in his NASCAR debut at Indianapolis. As for Truex Jr.’s future, it seems that the water is murkier than we thought.
