What’s Happening?
NASCAR and North Wilkesboro Speedway have announced the format for the 2025 All-Star Race. As usual, the event has a few new aspects for 2025, and at the forefront is the new Manufacturer Showdown.

- The Manufacturer Showdown will pit Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota against one another. During the race, these teams, decided by their final All-Star Race starting positions, will be scored against one another rather than their overall running position.
- The OEM with the fewest cars in the main event sets the total number of drivers competing for each team. The OEM with the lowest combined finishing positions in the race wins the Manufacturer Showdown.
- Other new additions to the All-Star Race format this season include SMI and NASCAR extending the main event from 200 laps to 250 laps. A promoter’s caution is also scheduled for after lap 220 and after the lap 100 competition caution. This caution, thrown at will, will only occur should a natural caution not happen after lap 200. In addition, open teams are now part of the Pit Crew Challenge.
- Otherwise, most key aspects remain the same. Qualifying will be the normal three-lap format with a four-tire pit stop. The Pit Crew Challenge returns for a third season. Furthermore, the All-Star Heat Races and the All-Star Open remain 60 and 100 laps, respectively.
- Former Champions, All-Star Race winners, and 2024 and 2025 race winners are automatically eligible for the 2025 NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. The race will be on Sunday, May 18, at 8:00 PM ET, on FS1, and it will be the final race before Amazon Prime Video takes over Cup Series coverage.
