NASCAR’s annual All-Star Race is moving venues for a second straight season in a move that reverses the swap made for the 2026 season, returning the race to North Wilkesboro Speedway.
Per an announcement from North Wilkesboro, the race will cap off the track’s biggest race weekend ever.
That weekend kicks off with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on May 21, followed by the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on May 22, and the All-Star Race on May 23.
This addition of the NASCAR OAP Series is notable as a race at North Wilkesboro has been a long-running request from fans and industry members.
While this will be the track’s first NASCAR OAP Series race since 1985, it does mean a track will lose a race date, though as of press time, that track has yet to be announced.
The return of the All-Star Race to North Wilkesboro has been rumored for some time, and as expected, the 2026 points race will return to Dover Motor Speedway.
Next season, Dover will host a doubleheader weekend featuring the OAP and Cup Series on May 15 and May 16; the Truck Series will not return to Dover in 2027.
With the announcement of the All-Star Race on Wednesday morning, a majority of Cup Series race weekends are fleshed out for the start of the 2027 season.
The only weekends yet to be assigned races are the March 28 and May 9 weekends. March 28 is Easter weekend, which the Cup Series has had off in recent seasons, and May 9 is expected to be the Spring race weekend at Kansas Speedway, though this is yet to be announced.
