What’s Happening?

It’s a tripleheader weekend for NASCAR as the Trucks, Xfinity, and the NASCAR Cup Series head to Charlotte Motor Speedway to take on the Roval. Whether you are at the track or home, what does the forecast look like for this weekend in Concord, North Carolina?

  • Charlotte Motor Speedway is one of NASCAR’s most thrilling ovals and one of the series’ most interesting road courses. The 2.28-mile oval is built into the existing oval and infield at CMS, and, since its introduction in 2018, the track has served as a true one of a kind for NASCAR.
  • The ROVAL replaced the traditional fall race that CMS had hosted since 1960. The first Roval Race featured only the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series, but this year, the Craftsman Truck Series joins its brethren for a full tripleheader weekend.
  • Rain has played a role in ROVAL races in the past, but, unlike regular weekends at Charlotte, the rain doesn’t matter, as wet-weather tires and windshield whippers are in play this weekend.
