NASCAR Veteran Set For First Truck Start Since 2022

What’s Happening?

NASCAR veteran Harrison Burton is returning to the Craftsman Truck Series this weekend in Tricon Garage’s No. 5 truck at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

• Burton last raced in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2022 for Tricon, then called DGR-Crosley, at the Bristol Dirt Race and Sonoma. Prior to that, the second-generation driver had one full-time season in the series with Kyle Busch Motorsports.
• Throughout his 40 career Truck Series starts, Burton has finished no better than third. This race will also be Burton’s first at IRP in the Truck Series or any NASCAR National Series.
• This season, Burton returns to Toyota with Sam Hunt Racing after four seasons racing with Ford in both the NASCAR Cup and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. He currently sits 20th in OAP Series points, 220 outside the Chase cutline.
• Burton joins a long list of part-time drivers to pilot the No. 5 for Tricon this season, including Nick Leitz, Adam Andretti, Corey Heim, Chase Briscoe, William Sawalich, Spencer Davis, and Graham Doyle. Heim took the truck to victory lane at Darlington earlier this season.
