NASCAR Unveils Plans for Public Celebration Honoring the Life of Kyle Busch

What’s Happening?

NASCAR is hosting a public celebration of life for late NASCAR legend Kyle Busch this October at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

• Busch, a two-time Cup Series Champion, passed away from an abrupt illness in May. Since then, there has been a private memorial service and a small ceremony prior to the Coca-Cola 600, but no official public event.
• While NASCAR does not have fine details on the event just yet, it will take place at Charlotte Motor Speedway following the track’s fall Craftsman Truck Series Chase race. The event will be free to attend for all.
• Since Busch’s passing, fans, drivers, and teams have taken the time to honor his life in many ways. While drivers sport No. 8 hats and decals, fans have saluted Busch during every NASCAR Cup Series race on lap 8.
• Fans have also taken to finding other ways to honor Busch’s life and legacy. These have included donations to Bundle of Joy, a nonprofit founded by Busch and his wife, Samantha.
