NASCAR Suspends Crew Chief Following Dover

What’s Happening?

NASCAR has suspended O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Crew Chief Cory Selig after this past weekend’s race at Dover.

• Selig’s suspension is centered around NASCAR’s rules on missing or loose lug nuts. Per NASCAR rules, as the Crew Chief, he must miss one race and pay a fine.
• These penalties are commonplace, especially in the NASCAR OAP Series. In fact, SS-Greenlight Racing already prepared for the suspension, with the official entry list for Saturday’s race featuring Paul Clapprood as Crew Chief for the No. 07 team.
• So far this season, Selig and Bilicki have yet to score a top-five or a top-ten finish, but have just one DNF through 14 races. Bilicki is the only full-time driver at SS-Greenlight Racing, with the team’s other full-time entry, the No. 0, featuring a rotation of drivers.
• There were very few penalties expected to come out of Dover, as for the most part, the on-track action was rather calm. Most NASCAR fans are still awaiting the ruling on RFK Racing’s appeal of Ryan Preece’s penalty from Texas Motor Speedway earlier this month.
