With the threat of winter weather looming, NASCAR has cancelled all Saturday events for the 2026 Cookout Clash. The race will remain at Bowman Gray Stadium, with NASCAR attempting to do all events, including all four practice sessions, all four heat races, the last chance qualifier race, and the Clash main event on Sunday night after the storms subside.
UPDATE 4:45 PM ET: There will be NO heat races, and instead the main event will host those drivers with the top 20 fastest times from practice/qualifying, with the rest of the field sent to the LCQ race. The schedule below is updated for this change.
Entering this past weekend, Bowman Gray Stadium, like much of the southeastern United States, faced a major winter storm caking the track in snow and ice.
Though track officials have worked to prep the facility throughout the week, more storms loom this weekend, with freezing temperatures and a growing chance for snow on Saturday. This has forced the sport to cancel all track activities for Saturday.
With all of the Cup Series events moved to Sunday, the new schedule for the weekend’s events looks like this:
Other events are also shifting, while the The Clash Preview at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Event Center is still on for tomorrow from 10 AM to 2 PM, the weekend’s sportsman and modified division’s Cook Out Madhouse Classic will be rescheduled for another date.
