What’s Happening?

One day before the debut of NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying on Amazon Prime Video, we now know who will be in the booth for Practice and Qualifying. The FOX broadcast booth will commentate the 20 practice and qualifying sessions leading up to Prime Video’s exclusive coverage, after which Prime’s booth will take over.

  • Despite not broadcasting these combined 20 sessions, FOX will produce them to air on Prime Video using Mike Joy, Kevin Harvick, and Clint Bowyer. This is the normal FOX NASCAR Booth, which will also cover the race the following day on either FS1 or FOX.
  • However, this arrangement will change when Prime takes over exclusive NASCAR Cup Series coverage for five races beginning with the May 25 Coca-Cola 600. Prime Video will produce the broadcast, with its own talent, assumed to be the booth of Adam Alexander, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Steve Letarte.
  • Prior to this clarification from Prime Video, it was not clear who would produce and announce the practice and qualifying sessions airing on the streaming network. Prime will cover all the remaining first-half practice and qualifying sessions except the 2025 All-Star Race, which will air on FS1.
  • Prime’s coverage ends on Jun. 22, when TNT Sports takes over. TNT will broadcast practice and qualifying on TruTV and MAX for the rest of the season. However, it is unknown if, after TNT’s five races, the NBC booth will take over for the Prime/TNT booth.
