What’s Happening?

NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series team AM Racing will continue its hiatus from the series, which now stretches to three races in a row, per this week’s preliminary entry list.

The team, which fields one car for driver Nick Sanchez, initially withdrew from the Easter Weekend race at Rockingham Speedway.

AM and driver Nick Sanchez have since missed last weekend’s race at Bristol, something initially rumored to be a one-week absence from the series.

Per this week’s entry list, AM will miss this weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway. While this could change, the team’s social media accounts have not posted any racing-related updates since their last race at Martinsville.

In the meantime, Sancehz, one of just three OAP Series rookies to win a race in 2025, has slipped down the points standings and will seemingly continue to do so.

AM had an odd offseason, as a sale to ARCA Menards Series regular SPS Racing fell through, with AM sticking to their guns and signing Sanchez with mere days until the season opener.

Sanchez, for his part, had a similarly bizarre offseason, being released from his spot at Big Machine Racing in December.

AM is one of two teams that planned to complete the whole season and have now backed down to part-time, with the other, Barrett-Cope Racing, on a similar hiatus.

However, AM’s status in the series carries the weight of their manufacturer, Ford, of which they are just one of two teams in the series entering Ford’s after the Haas Factory Team and RSS Racing switched to Chevrolet this past offseason.

The other team, Hettinger Racing, was rumored to be looking at taking a few weeks off last week, but is on the entry list for this weekend’s race with driver Luke Baldwin behind the wheel of the No. 5.
