What’s Happening?

Las Vegas Motor Speedway will maintain both of its NASCAR race weekends, including a spot in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts and Cup Series Chase, in 2027, per a new post to social media.

  • The track’s races will sit on opposite sides of the 2027 schedule, much like they have for several seasons now. The first weekend is March 19 to March 21, with a fall Chase weekend from October 8 to October 10.
  • With this news, fans now have another piece to the Cup and OAP Series Chase puzzle for 2027. So far (alongside Vegas), the Cup Series has confirmed Chase race dates for New Hampshire, Phoenix, and Talladega, while the OAP Series has just Phoenix and Talladega.
  • Notably, this announcement confirms that the Craftsman Truck Series will not return to the track in 2027. This season marked the first time since 2000 that the series did not race at the track, cutting what used to be a yearly doubleheader down to no events on the schedule for the time being.
  • Las Vegas is the latest track to announce its individual race dates for 2027. Earlier this season, the Daily Downforce started a tracker to keep up with the dates that were already announced. That story can be found via the link below.
