What’s Happening?

With the lingering effects of winter storms in the Winston-Salem area, NASCAR has again pushed the start of its pre-season Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium to Wednesday afternoon/evening.

This marks the second rescheduling of the event and the third overall change to this weekend’s initial plans for the pre-season race.

On Thursday, NASCAR cancelled Saturday’s on-track activities, moving the practice session to Sunday, and cancelling the heat races. Saturday, NASCAR moved the practice sessions, Last Chance Qualifier, and feature race to Monday, and now, the event will take place on Wednesday.

Wednesday, February 4th: PRACTICE/HEAT QUALIFYING – HEAT RACES – LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER RACE – CUP SERIES RACE
  • 1:30 PM | Practice/Qualifying on FS2
  • 4:30 PM | Last Chance Qualifier Race on FOX
  • 6:00 PM | Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on FOX

As previously announced, with the removal of the events’ four heat races, the 1:30 PM practice sessions will decide who makes the main event, and who is sorted to the LCQ. The top 20 from practice make the Clash field, while the bottom 18 are pushed to the LCQ, where the top two cars and the highest 2025 points finisher join the Clash field.
