What’s Happening?

NASCAR fans have given the first official gameplay trailer for NASCAR 26 a mixed response, with some praising iRacing Studios for listening to player feedback while others believe several long-requested features are still missing.

The trailer, released alongside pre-orders on July 29, showcases new gameplay systems, tracks, modes, and visual updates ahead of the game’s September 18 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with Gold Edition buyers receiving three days of early access.

One of the most popular reactions centered on the trophy room, with a fan writing, “The first thing I see is TROPHY ROOM THANK YOU IRACING YOU GUYS ACTUALLY LISTEN.” Another added, “Yall listening to feedback is amazing, thank you for all the work you’ve been putting in. Def preordering gold now!”

Fans also noticed smaller gameplay changes, including the ability to take left-side tires only during pit stops, with one commenter responding, “left side tires only for pitstops THANK YOU!”

The trailer also highlighted the game’s dynamic track system, which changes the racing surface as rubber builds throughout a race weekend. Other announced improvements include revised tire and braking physics, force-feedback changes, smarter AI, updated visuals, post-race burnouts, new tracks, and cross-platform multiplayer.

Fans Still Want More From Career Mode

The enthusiasm, however, was matched by questions about what remains absent. Several fans on X focused on Career Mode and the lack of deeper progression features. The strongest criticism came from players who expected bigger changes to Career Mode.

One fan asked, “So no career mode improvements? All you’ve done is just add basic features that should’ve been in 25.” They also questioned whether the annual releases could become “a madden reskin ever year,” a type of stale release schedule iRacing officials have said they are trying to avoid.

Several fans specifically mentioned missing features such as a proper silly season, the ability to drive for real-life teams in Career Mode, caution replays, league support, split-screen multiplayer, and broader customization options.

Customization also remains a concern as many fans wondered whether players could create their own drivers.

Couch co-op was another missing feature that drew criticism. “Why can’t we get couch co op? I really don’t think that’s a lot to ask for,” one fan wrote.

The Standard Edition of NASCAR is set to launch on September 18, though players who buy the Gold Edition will have 72 hours of early access beginning on September 15. For more on NASCAR 26, make sure to check out the story linked below.
