NASCAR is a sport with a lot of history. With over 75 years of stats and facts, it makes sense that many of them are unbelievable. They just don’t sound real well today. The Iceberg is going to take us through some of these facts and give us some history looking back on it.
- Many drivers of the Pioneer age have done amazing things, but they don’t have as much recognition as some of the people who were driving in the modern era when the sport became more popular. How do you think NASCAR can fix this problem?
- In a sport with this much history, longevity and consistency are some of the most important factors, and there’s no doubt that Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon both fit those attributes. What do you think is the strange fact that relates to these two?
- The old points format valued consistency the most. For example, in 1963, Richard Petty won 14 races but lost the championship to someone with three races. Do you think the old points format was better?
