What’s Happening?

One of NASCAR’s most prestigious races will also be exclusively streamed. On Tuesday, NASCAR announced that Prime Video will begin its broadcast portion of the 2025 schedule with the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25th. This will be the first NASCAR race ever to be broadcast exclusively on a streaming platform.

  • Prime Video is one of two new media partners NASCAR will welcome in 2025. After Fox broadcasts the first 14 races from the Clash through the All-Star Race, Prime Video will stream the next 5 races beginning with the Coca-Cola 600 and concluding with the 3 races that determine the bracket for NASCAR’s new In-Season Tournament. TNT will take over with the next 5 races, all In-Season Tournament races, before NBC takes over for the final 14 events
  • This move also impacts how the 2025 schedule breaks down. According to Bob Pockrass, the Cup Series is expected to have an off-weekend on Easter in 2025. This would make the Coca-Cola 600 the 15th event of the 2025 season and the 13th points race.
  • Fans are split on this move and Amazon’s inclusion in NASCAR in general. Not every fan favors the move to streaming, but, most can see why Amazon Prime would begin their schedule with such a big event.
