What’s Happening?

iRacing revealed the NASCAR Cup Series lineup for its upcoming console game, NASCAR ’25, on Tuesday afternoon. Despite a stacked field full of surprises, NASCAR fans couldn’t help but notice that one driver and team were missing.

Last week, iRacing revealed the rosters for the NASCAR Xfinity, Truck, and ARCA Menards Series for their upcoming NASCAR console game, NASCAR ’25. This left fans with one missing piece to the puzzle, the all-important NASCAR Cup Series Roster.

After a few days’ pause, iRacing dropped the official roster, deleted it, then re-uploaded it. Minus the subtraction of Conner Zilisch, who was originally listed but is no longer on the list of drivers, fans couldn’t help but notice that one driver was missing.

In order to have a full lineup in the game, iRacing had to add some part-timer drivers to the full-time 36-man Cup Series field. Among these entries were notable part-timers like seven-time Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson, Chad Finchum, Josh Bilicki, and J.J. Yeley.

All of these drivers have made more than one NASCAR Cup Series start this season. However, driver/owner B.J. McLeod and Katherine Legge of Live Fast Motorsports are missing from this list. While McLeod is a fan favorite, the exclusion of Legge, the only female driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, has the NASCAR fandom talking.

While there is no exact reason for the drivers’ and the team’s absence, fans are wondering why Legge, who has five starts this season, is not in the game compared to other included drivers.

For comparison, IndyCar legend Helio Castroneves and former Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr, both of which made a lackluster starts in the Daytona 500, and Burt Myers, who made one points-paying start at Martinsville and attempted to make the Clash, are featured in the game.

Now, this decision may have been made by Live Fast rather than iRacing, as the team could have opted out for a number of reasons. Furthermore, No. 78, be that McLeod or Legge, could be added at a later date, as the game is set for an Oct. 14 release, and there is a strong likely hood that further changes will be made through patches, updates, and DLC.

Nonetheless, NASCAR fans are making their voices heard; they are disappointed that Legge is not featured in the game.
