What’s Happening?

Two NASCAR National Series Crew members have been suspended for violating the sport’s Substance Abuse Policy. These suspensions were part of a lengthy edition of NASCAR’s weekly Penalty Report.

  • The suspended crew members are Josiah Wright, a rear tire changer for RFK Racing’s No. 6, and Mike Harmon Racing jackman Corbin Sklener. NASCAR handed the two crewmen indefinite suspensions.
  • The reasoning and long-term implications of these suspensions are unknown at the current time. NASCAR, like most sports, has a very strict Substance Abuse Policy.
  • This week’s penalty report was lengthy, with nine penalties handed down to multiple parties. Four Xfinity Series teams and one Truck Series team were fined for loose lug nuts, and four NASCAR Cup Series Crew Members were suspended for two races for loose wheel violations in Las Vegas.
  • Wheels were a hot topic of conversation last weekend, as multiple teams, aside from those facing penalties, had loose wheel issues. While the No. 8 and No. 19 teams physically lost tires, Christopher Bell avoided a penalty after a dramatic move on pit road to tighten his left front tire.
