- For some time now, rumors have pointed to Brown racing in the Cup Series again this season. However, most expected this to be with Richard Childress Racing until Mar. 24, when the team announced its No. 33 “open” car would be driven by Austin Hill that weekend. Brown will instead move across the RCR campus in Welcome, North Carolina, this year, racing in Kaulig Racing’s No. 13.
- Kaulig has used this car since 2023; however, last season, it saw frequent road course action with A.J. Allmendinger behind the wheel for four races and Shane van Gisbergen behind the wheel for the Roval, where the car sat on the pole and finished seventh.
- At just 26 years old, Brown is the reigning champion and has 11 career wins in the Supercars series. However, Brown is not making his NASCAR Cup Series debut, having previously raced with Richard Childress Racing at Sonoma last season.
- Brown currently races for Red Bull Ampol Racing, also known as Triple Eight Race Engineering, the same team van Gisbergen once raced for. Other rumors suggest that Brown may not be the only Supercars regular to race on the streets of Chicago on Jul. 6.
