What’s Happening?

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team Niece Motorsports is joining the CARS Tour for this weekend’s event at Caraway Speedway.

  • The team will field the No. 4 for 20-year-old Matt Gould, who has made starts in the Truck Series with Niece in the past. Per the team driver, Connor Hall will serve as Crew Chief.
  • While Niece has fielded a Late Model team before, stepping into the CARS Tour is a major move for their short track program. Other NASCAR teams, like the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series’ JR Motorsports and Rick Ware Racing in the Cup Series, already have a presence in the CARS Tour.
  • So far in 2026, the series is three races into the year. Coming off the most recent race at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, JRM’s Caden Kvapil is leading the Late Model Stock standings, and Mason Walters is leading the Pro Late Model standings.
  • Gould has limited experience in the series, with solo starts in both the Pro Late Model and Late Model Stock divisions. It is worth noting, however, that his lone Late Model Stock start was at Caraway in 2023, where he finished 24th.
