What’s Happening?
NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series rookie Lavar Scott is carrying special colors this weekend in NASCAR’s first-ever race weekend on the streets of San Diego’s Naval Base Coronado.

This weekend, Scott’s No. 45 will carry sponsorships from a handful of local businesses owned by San Diegans.
These businesses include The Local Pacific Beach, Backyard Banger, PNKYS, First National Bullion, Boutique Recruiting, and Boutique Recruiting’s EZ Temps.
“Bringing local businesses together around a national platform and creating opportunities that extend beyond race day is something our team is passionate about,” Jusan Hamilton, President of Alpha Prime Racing, said of the partnerships. “We’re excited to help showcase these brands and welcome new audiences into NASCAR,”
Off the track, sponsor The Local Pacific Beach will also host a pre-race party at their location, 809 Thomas Ave, on June 19, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The PB Local NASCAR Fan Zone Pre-party will give fans a driver meet-and-greet and photo opportunities with a show car version of Scott’s No. 45.
Scott, a New Jersey Native, is 17 races into his first-ever full-time NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with Alpha Prime Racing.
So far, the former ARCA Menards Series standout has the best finish of 15th, but has put together decent runs in the first two road course races of the season.
Still, there is very little that drivers can do to prepare for the unpredictable Qualcomm Circuit at Naval Base Coronado, with every driver entering the weekend on equal ground.
The green flag for the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Naval Base Coronado is scheduled to fly at 5:00 PM ET, with The CW carrying flag-to-flag coverage.
