What’s Happening?

Two weeks have passed since Kyle Busch’s death. Yet, fans are still coming to terms with the loss, the garage continues to mourn one of its defining figures, and sponsors who stood alongside Busch throughout his career are finding ways to honor the legacy he left behind.

Among the many industry members paying tribute to the late NASCAR legend is Interstate Batteries, a company whose partnership with Busch stretched across what most consider the most memorable period of his career.

Interstate Batteries served as a mainstay sponsor during Busch’s tenure with Joe Gibbs Racing, placing its green-and-white colors on the No. 18 Toyota for roughly six to eight races each season between 2008 and 2022.

Following Busch’s passing, the company took to social media with a series of posts paying tribute to the driver.

The tribute highlighted Busch’s place in NASCAR history, a career that produced 234 wins across NASCAR’s national series and two NASCAR Cup Series championships. Many of those milestone moments came while Busch carried Interstate Batteries branding, making the partnership one that spanned years of success and trips to Victory Lane.

In one post featuring photos and videos of Busch throughout his career, Interstate Batteries wrote, “Over 200 wins. Countless memories. One legendary legacy. 💚”

A second tweet featured four pictures of Busch in the sponsor’s green firesuit. Alongside the images, the sponsor wrote, “Kyle Busch’s impact on NASCAR will never be forgotten. From championship moments to unforgettable victories, he inspired generations of fans and left an indelible mark on the sport. Interstate Batteries was honored to be part of so many milestones throughout his remarkable career.”

The company followed that message with another announcement to support the cause that meant so much to Busch and his family, noting, “To honor Kyle’s memory, Interstate Batteries will be making a donation to the Samantha and Kyle Busch @bundleofjoyfund, a cause that is deeply meaningful to the Busch family.”

The gesture resonated throughout the racing community and is part of growing support from the racing community for Bundle of Joy. Since Busch’s passing, the organization has seen an increase in support from fans, industry members, and drivers.

One of these contributions came in the form of a tribute from Kyle Larson, who honored Busch after winning the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing event at Davenport Speedway.

Following his win, Larson bowed before the crowd in a celebration that echoed Busch’s trademark post-race gesture.

Larson also spoke about supporting the Samantha and Kyle Busch Bundle of Joy Fund, explaining why the cause remains close to the hearts of many within the racing community and serving as the Series’ Angel Donor for that weekend’s race at Davenport.

“This time, I am gonna send it to Kyle and Samantha’s Bundle of Joy. We know how much the Busch family means to all of us, and we greatly miss Kyle. So, we get to celebrate his life tomorrow, so I am looking forward to doing that, and I want to send that money to them,” Larson said.

Support for the fund has continued to pour in from fans across the country. Donations have increased as members of Rowdy Nation look for ways to honor Busch’s memory while helping families facing the same struggles that Kyle and Samantha Busch once endured.

The Busches established the Bundle of Joy Fund in September 2015 to help individuals and couples dealing with infertility by providing financial support for IVF treatments, given that the process often places a significant financial burden on families seeking to grow their families.

Having experienced those challenges firsthand, Kyle and Samantha Busch chose to give back to a community facing the same roadblocks. In doing so, they transformed their personal journey into a source of hope for countless families. And the mission continues to receive support even after Busch’s passing.
