Both Busch’s personal X account and Richard Childress Racing’s X account announced the change of plans Thursday morning.
The current status of Busch is unknown, but in a post on his social media, the family asked for “understanding and privacy as our family navigates this situation.”
In their post to social media, RCR said, “Kyle Busch’s health is our upmost priority and he and his family have the full resources of RCR behind them. Kyle is an integral part of our organization and we wish him a safe and speedy recovery.”
Prior to this news, Busch was set to compete in both Friday’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 and Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600.
While a replacement for him in the Truck Series is yet to be announced, RCR NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver Austin Hill will take over the No. 8 for the time being.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is made available.
