What’s Happening?

JR Motorsports has signed driver Jake Finch to drive the No. 9 car for five races during the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season.

  • Finch, the son of long-time NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts and Cup Series owner James Finch, will drive the team’s part-time car starting with the summer race at Echopark Speedway. The 20-year-olds ‘ final race of the season will be on October 24 at Talladega Superspeedway.
  • So far in his young career, Finch has made a name for himself racing in Late Models and ARCA, mostly with teams in the Toyota camp. In 2024, Finch, racing for legendary Venturini Motorsports, won his first ARCA race at Talladega Superspeedway.
  • Last season, Finch made his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut with Hendrick Motorsports, finishing 17th at Dover Motor Speedway. Since then, he has yet to enter another NASCAR National Series race.
  • Finch joins a rotating door of drivers in JRM’s No. 9 this season. That list includes Shane van Gisbergen, Ross Chastain, Lee Pulliam, and Carson Kvapil. Kvapil, for one, is splitting his time between JRM’s No. 1 and No. 9 teams, while also driving DGM Racing’s No. 91 to fill his 2026 schedule.
