What’s Happening?

JR Motorsports and Carson Kvapil are going full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025. After a stellar part-time season with JRM in the Xfinity Series, the CARS Tour Champion finally found sponsorship for his 2025 campaign.

  • Carson Kvapil is the son of former NASCAR driver Travis Kvapil. Carson made his name in Late Model Racing at a very young age, winning back-to-back Late Model Stock championships in 2022 and 2023 for JRM. These efforts earned Carson a shot at the Xfinity Series this season in JRM’s No. 88.
  • After nearly winning at Dover and subsequent solid races, many fans added a full-time schedule for Kvapil to their 2025 wish list. However, sponsorship was the main factor preventing Carson’s full-time 2025. JRM co-owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. even said this was the problem at Bristol two weeks ago.
  • Along with his announced full-time schedule comes the news of his sponsor. Bass Pro Shops, a long-time Earnhardt family sponsor and Kvapil’s Late Model sponsor, will be on the hood of JRM’s No. 1 next season. However, whether this is a full-season sponsorship or if more sponsors are to follow is unclear.
  • Kvapil joins fellow young Chevrolet hotshot Connor Zilisch at a revitalized JR Motorsports that is looking toward the future. The team has already cleaned house this Silly Season, with Sam Mayer and Brandon Jones changing teams for 2025. In doing so, these changes made room for the promising rookies.

This is a developing story.
