- DGM announced Williams’ absence on social media Tuesday afternoon. NASCAR Canada Series driver Alex Guennette will take over the No. 92 in his place. The team says that “a newly onboarded sponsor failing to meet its contractual obligations” resulted in plans for Williams to drive their No. 92 falling through.
- On a positive note, the team said in its post that it will do its best to keep Williams in the seat this season. The post reads, “DGM Racing is committed to keeping Williams in the driver seat and will continue searching for replacement partners to fund the gaps.”
- The 2026 season was set to be a renewed partnership for the two after Williams’ sudden ousting from Kaulig Racing late last season. In the past, Williams earned his ride at Kaulig thanks to solid results shown in DGM’s equipment.
- This will mark the third time in 2026 that Williams has missed a race, after failing to qualify for the races at Circuit of the Americas and Phoenix Raceway at the start of the season. The 32-year-old currently sits 28th in points, with a best finish of 17th so far this year.
