- Williams, a Florida native, will debut in the team’s No. 45 entry at Daytona International Speedway next Friday. Alloy Employer Services, a long-time sponsor of Williams, will be an associate sponsor on the Chevrolet, with Optum on the hood.
- Kaulig Racing released Williams a year and a half into his 54-race tenure in the team’s No. 11 entry. After generally outperforming his equipment at past teams, this arrangement looked like a breakthrough for the veteran, though. He would only finish a best of sixth during his time with Kaulig, doing so at Charlotte in May, tying his previous career high.
- Williams made his name as not only a talented fan favorite underdog but also a personality in the series. This included a viral moment at Atlanta in which, despite the wishes of NASCAR Officials, Williams parked his car on the front stretch and walked away.
- Williams’ start with APR at Daytona will be the 241st of his Xfinity Series career, which began in 2016. The 31-year-old has 16 career starts at Daytona, finishing a best of ninth with DGM Racing during the summer of 2020, and averaging a finishing position of 23.5.
