What’s Happening?
Friday morning, Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport announced its 2025 lineup. This announcement confirmed the return of veteran second-generation racer Jeb Burton. However, it also revealed a new face for the team, Blaine Perkins.
- Following an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, team owner Jordan Anderson left a few questions in the air for 2025. This was due to him claiming the team signed both of their drivers for next season despite not naming either driver.
- Most fans knew the No. 31 was open following Parker Retzlaff’s confirmed departure. However, the potential news that Jeb Burton would leave the No. 27 was shocking. However, the team confirmed today that Burton will return for a third full-time season alongside some new blood in 24-year-old Blaine Perkins.
- Burton is a proven talent who has won in the Truck and Xfinity Series. However, the signing of Perkins might be a shock to some JAR fans. Perhaps following a down season in 2024, the team may be open to a drastic shake-up.
- In 2023, JAR won a race at Talladega with Burton and built on foundations laid in 2022. However, the team slowly slipped down the grid in 2024, ultimately leading to Retzlaff’s departure. While Parker’s ride for 2025 is yet to be known, our sources suggest that Alpha Prime Racing could be an option.
- Perkins raced in 30 races in 2023 for OUR Motorsports and 32 races in 2024 for RSS Racing. While his stats don’t stand out, a deeper look shows that Blaine performed better in 2024 than he did in 2023. Despite more races for his sample size, Perkins had an average finish of 26.1, an improvement on his 28.6 in 2023. Furthermore, Perkins appears to already have a sponsor in the form of easycare.
