His first race of the season at Martinsville Speedway next weekend will mark Patterson’s first NASCAR National Series start, after DNQing at the Charlotte Roval last season.
This debut and his ensuing eight-race schedule make the long-time JAR team member one of the most interesting stories on the OAP Series grid this season.
In a press release, team owner Jordan Anderson said Patterson has “put in the work in every area of this team, from building the cars in the shop to traveling with us on the road, all while grinding away at his own racing career.”
Patterson, who first joined JAR during their days in the Craftsman Truck Series, has worked his way up the ladder, moving from shop worker to traveling crew member.
Over the past three seasons, the Ohio native has entered 11 ARCA Menards Series races, scoring a best finish of second at Salem Speedway last season.
Patterson joins a rotating door of drivers in JAR’s full-time “all-star car” this season, sharing the ride with names like Jordan Anderson, Ross Chastain, and Rajah Caruth throughout the season.
So far, the team’s best finish of the year came in the season opener at Daytona with team owner Anderson bringing the car home in fourth.
