As we went green to start the final stage in the Xfinity Series race at Richmond, contact between Dawson Cram and Xfinity veteran Joey Gase sent Gase’s No. 35 Chevy hard into the outside wall. This would end Gase’s race but the real story here is what happened after Gase exited his car. To voice his frustration, Gase tore the rear bumper cover from his car, walked down the track, and threw it at Cram’s No. 4 Chevy.

Reporters caught up with owner-driver Joey Gase. He says in this interview provided by Noah Lewis that Dawson Cram is a “good kid” but he “loses his head” every week. He just wanted to point out to Cram what he did by tossing him a little “souvenir”.
Gase then took to X to post this passive aggressive picture of the damage.
The drivers eventually met up on pit road following the race and hashed things out for themselves.
Joey Gase Racing posted this on their official X account immediately after the incident. They say, without so much as a stutter, “we got wrecked!”
As reported by Jonathan Fjeld, NASCAR will review the Joey Gase bumper throw this week and plan to have a conversation about it. He posted this picture of Xfinity Rulebook Second 8.3.5 which specifically deals with this sort of situation.
