What’s Happening?
Kaulig Racing and Ram Trucks’ new reality show, RAM: Race for the Seat, has yet to complete its first season of airing, but a recent interview suggests the two parties may be in the early stages of planning a second season.
Everything We Know About Dodge and Ram’s Return to NASCAR (So Far)
What’s Happening? One major storyline to follow during the 2025 and 2026 NASCAR seasons is the ongoing saga of Dodge and…
As part of their return to NASCAR, Ram Trucks has taken a unique route to garnering attention for their first NASCAR season since 2012.
First, instead of trying to find a current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team, the brand teamed up with an established NASCAR Cup Series team, Kaulig Racing, to field five full-time trucks for the new season.
As part of this massive lineup is a special truck, the No. 14, reserved for the driver who wins a new reality game show called RAM: Race for the Seat.
The show, which airs on FS1 and uploads episodes on YouTube, is pitting 15 short track aces from different backgrounds head-to-head for a shot at winning a spot in Ram’s No. 14 truck, albeit in a reality TV Show setting with the cast of drivers living in one house throughout the contest.
Though the show, at least as of press time, still has five episodes left to air in its first season, during a recent interview, Kaulig Racing CEO Chris Rice may have dropped some not-so-subtle hints that Ram and Kaulig are looking to produce a second season ahead of the 2027 season.
Planning Ahead
During an appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Thursday, Rice, speaking on the casting of the show’s first season, addressed the fact that they failed to get drivers from the West Coast, Mexico, and from other backgrounds like dirt modifieds as a shortcoming of the show.
Continuing this conversation, Rice somewhat attributed this to the timing of the casting, with some drivers unable to make the tight window for filming work in early November, saying that “we’re gonna start that a lot earlier this year.”
This phrasing suggests that, while nothing is confirmed, a second season of the show may be early on in the development cycle.
The long-time Kaulig executive even continued to speak of the next casting cycle, saying that they want to diversify the cast of drivers for next season, as the show is not only helping the winner get attention, but the entire field of drivers battling it out for the No. 14.
“We would love some girls in there. We would love some people to be able to look at and see what they got, because what I learned at the owners meeting yesterday, everybody’s watching this. A bunch of the owners are watching this, and they’re watching the drivers, and they’re seeing what they can do.” — Chris Rice
Of course, nothing is confirmed as of right now, though, if the show produces a solid driving talent and attention towards Kaulig and Ram, it may be worthy of a second go-around.
The Online Reception of Season One So Far
As mentioned above, at publishing, the first season of RAM: Race for the Seat is still ongoing, with the next two episodes set to go live on the official YouTube channel at 7 PM ET and 8 PM ET tonight.
Overall, fans are interested in the show, with the first three episodes being a topic of conversation amongst fans in the online NASCAR community over the past few weeks.
In fact, the first two episodes have garnered over 300K views in less than a week, with clips from the episodes making rounds online.
In particular, one clip of a heated exchange between Chris Rice and contestant Tanner Reif went viral. Though many are pointing out Rice’s harsh tone towards Reif, others are also quick to remind other fans that it is a reality show and that they should expect moments like these.

Regarding this back and forth, during his interview with SiriusXM, Rice said, “There’s a place to always do criticism. There’s a place to have a conversation, and there’s a place not to.”
Nonetheless, the show has the fanbase talking, something that will undoubtedly draw eyes to the eventual winner and driver of Kaulig’s No. 14 Truck during the February 13 season opener at Daytona.
