  • In a post on X Thursday afternoon, iRacing Executive Vice President Steve Myers confirmed that the game, the first NASCAR Console game released since 2021, will only be available for digital download.
  • Some users expressed their discontent with this decision, with user @WhatsOnTapYT responding to Myers saying, “that is a huge mistake, especially for the average nascar fan.” Nonetheless, digital-only releases of games are commonplace in modern gaming, with both XBOX and PlayStation having digital-only editions of their current-generation consoles.
  • Historically, NASCAR games have come out as both digital and physical releases, with the two multi-platform console games released by Motorsport Games during their run as the NASCAR license holder, NASCAR Heat 5 and NASCAR 21: Ignition, were physical and digital releases. This trend also extends into the other games released in the NASCAR Heat line from 2016 to 2019.
  • Both editions of NASCAR ’25 are available for preorder on the XBOX and PlayStation stores. The Standard Edition runs at $59.99, and the Gold Edition at $79.99. Both come with preorder bonuses, and the Gold Edition comes with the season pass, including DLC.
  • NASCAR ’25 is set to release on October 14 for PS5 and XBOX Series X/S, with a PC release via Steam set for November 11. For any and all information, including timelines, promotional videos, and in-game info, make sure to check out our in-depth article on NASCAR ’25 below.
