What’s Happening?

On the most recent episode of “The Teardown”, Jordan Bianchi said that Honda coming to NASCAR is still a ways away. Bianchi elaborated a bit on the process that Honda has to go through including building an engine, a car, testing, and getting everything approved by NASCAR. Bianchi capped it all off by saying the following.

That process hasn’t even started yet to my knowledge. Unless NASCAR has kept this under wraps, which, I don’t think thay have. At some point [Honda] may [join], but, it won’t be for 2025.

  • Honda to NASCAR rumors first started up in December, when Honda executive Chuck Schifskey name-dropped NASCAR in a RACER.com article written by Marshall Pruett. Since then, reports have been surfacing about NASCAR and Honda continuing to flirt with each other, but, the timeline has remained quite murky
  • NASCAR has been looking for a fourth manufacturer since Dodge left in 2013, and that search has intensified since the Next-Gen car was introduced. One of the hopes of the car was to bring a new manufacturer along, but, in year 3, there are still no new manufacturers.
  • Fans would love to see Honda join the NASCAR ranks sometime soon. Fans want to see more manufacturers, which means potentially more competitive cars on tracks and better competition overall.

Honda and NASCAR rumors will continue to fly until an announcement is made. For more information on the Honda to NASCAR story, check out our story below.
