What’s Happening?
Tuesday, a Crew Chief at the Haas Factory Team confirmed the team will be a close partner with RFK Racing next season. The Haas Factory Team is not exactly new to NASCAR. However, their past is rather interesting.
- On Alan Cavanna’s SiriusXM NASCAR Radio show, Aaron Kramer, Crew Chief of the No. 41 next season, referred to the car as RFK Racing’s “pseudo 4th car.” RFK, co-owned by No. 6 driver Brad Keselowski, is trending upward in NASCAR and recently added a third in-house car for the 2025 NASCAR season.
- This new role for the No. 41 follows the deconstruction of Stewart-Haas Racing in 2024 and its reformation into the single-car Haas Factory Team for 2025. Gene Haas owns HFT and will field a resurgent Cole Custer in the 2025 season.
- This relationship gives former SHR fans and new HFT fans a sliver of hope that the team could be competitive next season. RFK, who shot back up to the top of NASCAR after falling off themselves in the mid-2010s, is a solid choice for the team to work with.
Last season, Rick Ware Racing, who ironically used to be in a similar spot at SHR, with support from RFK, found new life and speed. If this relationship is as close as Kramer teased, HFT may not fall far from where SHR was last season.
RFK, however, is also taking on a third in-house car in 2025, thanks to a new sponsorship from Kroger and a leased Charter from RWR. That car, driven by former No. 41 driver Ryan Preece, may stretch RFK’s support to an exhaustive point.
