What’s Happening?

NASCAR has announced its 2027 Hall of Fame Class, with Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Larry Phillips all making the Hall of Fame, while names like Neil Bonnett, Randy LaJoie, Herb Nab, and Greg Biffle missed out on making this year’s class.

Kevin Harvick, 2014 NASCAR Cup Series Champion and current FOX Sports analyst, joins as a first ballot Hall of Famer as one of the two Modern Era drivers.

The second driver from the Modern Era Ballot is Jeff Burton, Harvick’s former Richard Childress Racing teammate and a current broadcaster with USA and NBC Sports.

From the Pioneer Ballot, electors chose late Larry Phillips, a legend in NASCAR Modified racing with five NASCAR Local Racing Series National Championships.

Executive Vice Chair of NASCAR Lesa France Kennedy won the Landmark Award, an award given to industry members who have helped grow the sport throughout its history. Kennedy is the daughter of former NASCAR CEO Bill France Jr.

Notable drivers who missed out on the Modern Era Ballot include Neil Bonnett, Randy LaJoie, and Greg Biffle.

Biffle was a major question entering this year’s voting, while he will likely get another shot, many fans wondered if his recent passing would help his candidacy in his first time on the ballot.

While Biffle did not make it this time around, Burton is a great example of how that could change in 2027, as it was somewhat of a surprise that Burton did not make this past year’s class of Hall of Famers.

The induction ceremony of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2027 will take place on January 22, 2027, at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
