What’s Happening?
The NASCAR Cup Series thundered into Thunder Valley for a 500-lap race of attrition at The Last Great Coliseum, Bristol Motor Speedway. Allen, Daniel, Amalee, and Dan break down Ty Gibbs’ first win in the NASCAR Cup Series, talk Chase-Off implications, and NASCAR court now has a proposed date.
It’s Bristol Baby!
Kyle Larson sweeps the stages but comes up just short with a 3rd-place finish in the Food City 500, while Blaney is edged out by young Ty Gibbs by .055 seconds after a green, white, checkered finish at Bristol. Tempers flare as Riley Herbst and Kyle Busch play bumper tag, and 23XI responds after a tough outing at Martinsville. Alex Bowman is back, but is the DNF today the final nail in the coffin for Chase-Off hopes in 2026?
The Chase-Offs and Weekly Picks
Post Bristol, your biggest mover is Chase Briscoe as he is silently creeping up the standings +4 today to 17th, only one point out of the top 16 behind Shane Van Gisbergen. Tyler Reddick’s lead has shrunk to 62 points even after a strong 4th-place. Toyota is dominating with five cars in the top-10. Spire is no longer a fluke in the standings with two of three in the top 16, but Trackhouse has work to do as they hang on by a thread. As the weeks click off, the points battle continues to heat up.
The picks are in from the fanalyst, and with Allen’s win today, he kicks off the picks for Kansas. Allen is taking Chris Buescher, Dan is taking Chase Briscoe, Daniel is taking Kyle Larson, and Amalee has Carson Hocevar. The best 1.5-mile track on the circuit is just a few days away as the Cup Series heads to the fields of Kansas.
