What’s Happening?
After keeping his nose clean for most of today’s Truck race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Franki Muniz’s day turned sour just as the pack approached 30 laps to go. The incident occurred in the tight Atlanta corners as Muniz attempted to close a hole that wasn’t there, drifting up high on corner exit. The actor-turned-racer squeezed polesitter Connor Mosack into the wall and then turned into the wall himself. Despite not triggering a caution, Muniz fell through the field like a stone in water. Entering the next corner, Muniz unfortunately got loose on his own and plowed down the track. This caused significant damage to his 33 truck, which ultimately ended his day.
- Despite being an actor in his younger life, Muniz has slowly been growing respect in the garage area. He put up a handful of decent runs in the ARCA Menards Series in 2023 and now, for the 2025 season, is running the full truck series schedule.
- Because of his popularity in Hollywood, a lot of eyes have been on Muniz during his starts. Throughout the race, he ran solidly in the top-25, mostly keeping his nose clean. However, as the tension started to amp up, he found himself involved in another one of those classic superspeedway racing accidents.

This is Muniz’s first DNF of the season, after finishing 10th last week at Daytona. What are your thoughts? Do you think Muniz will adjust once we get to more “normal” racetracks? Let us know what you think!
