- Piquet will drive full-time for Alumitec Racing, which is coming off a second-place finish in driver’s points with Gianmarco Ercoli in 2025. The 40-year-old has had a mostly journeyman career in racing, floating across many different sports car, open wheel, and stock car racing series across the world.
- Of course, the Brazilian is the son of three-time Formula One World Champion Nelson Piquet. However, the second-generation driver is most well-known for his time racing in Formula One with Renault in 2008 and 2009, and his more recent success in Formula E, where he won the Series ‘ first-ever drivers’ championship.
- Though he has not raced in NASCAR in nearly a decade, after his short tenure in Formula One, Piquet made a name for himself racing in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck and Nationwide Series in the 2010s. In his 92 career starts in the two series (and one start in Cup), Piquet won three races, including two during the 2012 Truck Series season.
- The 2026 NASCAR Euro Series season kicks off on April 16 with a race at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Spain. The series will host six race weekends this season, with two races at each stop, across six different countries, with the season concluding at Belgium’s Circuit Zolder on October 18.
