Last week, we gave our suggestions for who should take over the JRM No. 8 car in 2024. The Daily Downforce readers also gave their thoughts on the open seat. Who do they expect to take over the seat in 2024?
Carson Kvapil
With Carson Kvapil making his Truck Series debut at Bristol in the Spire Motorsports 7 Truck, many begin to wonder if Kvapil is a candidate for the JRM 8 car. This would have some parallels to Josh Berry. Berry came from late models driving for JRM just like Kvapil currently is.
The age might be a bit of a factor for Kvapil, but his talent is obvious. Many are clambering for Kvapil to get his first full-time NASCAR chance with JRM in the 8 car.
Justin Summer says Carson Kvapil.
Blake Renfo also says Kvapil.
racingboishort says that Kvapil is being set up by the Truck Series drive he is getting this season.
Trevor says it’s going to be Kvapil.
Noah Gragson
Some people are calling for Noah Gragson to make the move back to JR Motorsports. Now, he would first have to be reinstated by NASCAR for this to happen, and those who partner with JRM would also have to approve. There are a lot of hurdles that would go into this happening.
Regardless of that fact, fans are still hoping for Gragson to redeem himself. Many believe that Gragson making the move back to JRM is the perfect opportunity for that redemption arc. It could be an interesting story, but is it actually realistic?

Karen Whaley said that Gragson could have benefitted from another year in Xfinity.
JBonneville REALLY hopes Gragson goes back to JRM.
Carson Hocevar
Carson Hocevar was once the favorite to land this car, but it seems that things have shifted. He is now reportedly on his way to the Cup Series next year. However, what if that Cup Series opportunity falls through? It may not be totally out of the question for him to still make his way into the Xfinity Series with JRM at season’s end.
Now, Hocevar may not end up in this seat after all. However, he is a driver that must still be considered until the move is officially made.

Michael Volk said that Hocevar would make perfect sense.
Matt DiBenedetto
A few fans suggested giving Matt DiBenedetto the opportunity to drive the number 8 car. DiBenedetto recently announced that he would be leaving Rackley WAR at season’s end, leaving him without a ride for 2024. Could a jump up to the Xfinity Series be in the cards?
DiBenedetto is a veteran driver, which would be similar to Josh Berry currently being a veteran driver. It may not be the most inspiring choice, but it may be one of the most surprising choices. However, DiBenedetto has won in one of the three National Touring Series before, and he has qualified for the Cup Series Playoffs before.
Nascarblood wants DiBenedetto.

Tami Roam says please to Matty D.
Will any of these drivers get one of the most coveted seats in the NASCAR Xfinity Series? Time will tell whether or not it actually happens.
