What’s Happening?

Fan favorite driver Nick Sanchez is returning to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Spire Motorsports this weekend at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

  • Sanchez’s return to the series adds his name to a stacked list of part-time names to race the No. 77 for Spire this season. This list includes Carson Hocevar, James Hinchcliffe, Connor Zilisch, Jesse Love, Justin Marks, and Parker Kligerman.
  • The 2026 season has been far from an easy ride for Sanchez. This news is another piece to that odd puzzle, with the 25-year-old splitting time between two series and a total of three teams.
  • Sanchez kicked off 2026 with AM Racing after losing his 2025 ride at Big Machine Racing last offseason. The former NASCAR Truck and OAP Series race winner then lost his new ride seven races into the season when AM suddenly ceased operations.
  • While he may not be the highest-rated prospect in NASCAR, Sanchez has grown a following in the sport’s fan base. After winning the 2022 ARCA Menards Series Championship, the Florida native built a name for himself as a two-time Truck Series winner.
